I'm a lippie girl, but there's something about tinted balms that gets me. They're effortless, but pretty. They're quick. They don't need precision. They're good on the go. They're cool.
When Priceline finally put Maybelline COLOR whispers on sale, I rushed on over and snapped up Pink Possibilities. I liked the look of some of the others, but thought it best to restrain myself.
Let me begin with the packaging because it's a total win. Bright and shiny! Two of my favourite things. Plus, it's nice and streamlined. On aesthetics alone, I give it an A+.
In the tube, Pink Possibilites is a gorgeously bright, bubblegum-pink with an ever-so-slight hint of coral. I thought this would do me well. It didn't.
On my hand, it looks like the perfect pink tint. On my face, it looks like something from the bargain bin of Hot Dollar. In other words, it looks like shit. Cheap and tacky. But hey - that's not really Maybelline's fault.
Not-so-great shade aside, the formula is nice. Feels like a decent balm. Pretty soft. Glides on well. That's it, really. Nothing to write home about.
Staying power isn't great. It kinda dissapears really quickly. Though I don't think that's uncommon for tinted balms.
All up, it's a fine product. I don't love it, but I don't hate it. It's kinda...meh. One of those "I could've done without it" products. Maybe if the colour was a better fit, I'd veer closer to love. But, yeah...no dice. I might consider Mad for Magenta if Maybelline ever does 50% off. Eh, probably not.
Thoughts? Do you rate Maybelline COLOR whispers?
